Ten years ago in Tamera we placed the first stone of the Stone Circle, and celebrated the inauguration of this community artwork. It was in the prehistoric stone circle of “Almendres” in Evora, that Sabine Lichtenfels had received, through dreams and intuition, the task of inviting its power and knowledge to Tamera. She led a variety of seminars together with the geomancers Marko Pogacnik and Peter Frank, to gain insight into the different aspects of a peace community in their full depth, and to give them artistic expression. With great care they selected granite and marble stones from quarries, and in the following years placed a total of 96 of them in a winding oval, in the heart and center of Tamera. Each stone represents an archetype, and the whole Stone Circle stands for completeness and cooperation within a universal peace community. This community artwork--the Stone Circle--became a meeting place for ritual, prayer, and meditation, for the Tamera community and its guests. All projects and plans are presented here before being implemented, questions are asked, prayers are spoken; births, deaths, and other special occurances are celebrated here. Like the stone circle of Evora, the Tamera Stone Circle is more and more becoming a place where people can connect with their inner sources of knowledge--with the matrix of a healed earth. A whole culture of pilgrims' paths, and meditation- and power-places, is arising, with the Stone Circle at its center.
At the time, the shared idea was to build stone circles in many different locations. The first additional stone circles were built in Colombia--in the peace-village San José de Apartado and in Mulatos--and preparations were made for Israel-Palestine. Working to develop the cosmograms helps with this, as one becomes conscious of the most important personal values. Peter Frank and Marko Pogacnik have built "lithopuncture circles" in many other locations. To commemorate the births of the lithopuncture circles, Peter Frank created an internet site, where the different circles can be seen. (http://pfrank8.wix.com/geopuncture/)
We commemorate all those people and cultures who, in close cooperation and connection with the earth, have built stone circles and similar spiritual works of art. And we nurture the vision that one day, a network of stone circles and earth-art will again spread across the earth -- for a culture of peace.
